Wipolo says it has developed a new app, which allows users to share their travel experiences “on-the-go” with their friends.

Users can “plan a trip”, “travel” and even indicate they are “back home”.

The company mentioned that it has brought the “travel dimension” to Facebook. The app allows people to discover and explore new destinations around the world through - and with - their friends.

Wipolo also stated that its platform is 100 percent about social travel: users can follow their friends’ travel diaries in real time, explore the world and find inspiration for their upcoming trips.

Just like a Facebook profile, Wipolo gives users access to their own “travel dashboard”. Members can view and access upcoming trips, consult the most visited cities and find their favourite travel buddies.

The app allows users to discover new destinations through informative videos. When one clicks on its “video” button on Facebook, it automatically launches a presentation of the chosen destination on Wipolo’s platform. On top of geographical and historical facts, users can find friends who have valuable tips to share or who would make fun travel buddies.  

Several travel companies including social travel site Gogobot and TripAdvisor have also launched their apps for Facebook Timeline.
