TripAdvisor doubles its travel reviews and opinions in five months to touch two million-mark

Travel information and advice destination TripAdvisor, Inc. has touched two million-mark in terms of total travel reviews and opinions posted on the site, www.tripadvisor.com.

Interestingly, in January 2005, the travel search site had announced that it got more than one million unbiased hotel, attraction and restaurant member reviews, guidebook comments, articles and forum posts on the site. This means the site has doubled its advice offering in just five months. Dwelling on unbiased travel reviews, the site says it features “real story” about hotels, attractions and restaurants.

The reviews and opinions represent a resource for travelers to get the “whole truth” before planning and going on a vacation, weekend getaway or business trip. TripAdvisor offers travel suppliers a cost-per-click marketing platform, so customers pay only for leads, not impressions, with every campaign.

TripAdvisor scours the web to find unbiased articles, guidebook reviews and user comments on cities, hotels and activities in a given destination. As a result of its proprietary search technology, irrelevant results are filtered out, and consumers searching for travel information are presented with the best articles on the web, as well as commerce links from TripAdvisor's travel supply partners that are highly relevant for a given destination.
