Trondent, a travel technology company, has appointed Mark Ferguson as vice-president of product development and strategy. The development, part of company's aggressive product expansion, was announced earlier this month.

Trondent president and chief executive officer Dave Wood said, "The need
for new and creative technology solutions in our industry continues to
grow as cost pressures and service demands escalate. Trondent has been
pursuing aggressive development in the broader service areas of data
management, meeting technology, Profile management, PNR quality and
reservation processing because our clients are looking for efficiencies
realized through single source providers." Wood added, "Our explosive
growth and evolving client needs necessitated additional senior level
resources to help manage our current product line and future development
requirements."

The company stated that Ferguson is equipped to leverage over two
decades' travel technology experience, covering broad product
applications and disciplines from programming/development, to client
consulting to operations management.

Mark previously was president of AQUA Software Products. He guided the
company from its roots as a quality control software company to a global
technology powerhouse, representing 16 different automated solutions,
compatible on five different GDS, according to a Trondent release.

Trondent is gearing up for new product applications, including ProFILER
Web Master, which uses wizard technology, allowing users with little to
no programming knowledge to configure custom profile sites on their
agency or client websites, said the company.

In May this year, Trondent, a provider of data management solutions and
web-based applications to the global travel industry, had released a new
version of AirWEB Authorizer - an automated, pre-ticketing travel
approval tool. The web-based utility can either be used as a
stand-alone application or offered as a private labeled integrated tool
within an on-line booking system. AirWEB Authorizer is fully compatible
with Amadeus, Apollo, Galileo, Worldspan and Sabre.
