Rearden Commerce is to integrate FlightStats real-time data for airport, airline and flight status into its automated traveler notifications.

The Rearden Commerce Personal Assistant will automatically contact travelers via email, voice, text (SMS) or fax alerts in the event of a flight delay or cancellation—based on FlightStats information.

Jeff Pulver, vice president of marketing for Rearden Commerce said, “FlightStats real-time flight information takes the Rearden Personal Assistant to the next level, enabling us to move from time-based status notifications to proactive, up-to-the-minute alerts whenever changes occur in a traveler’s itinerary, turning hours stuck in airport lounges into productive time for work or recreation.”

The Rearden Commerce Personal Assistant includes a notification engine that keeps users up-to-date on all types of services, including the pickup and arrival of shipped packages, changes to travel plans, confirmation and reminders for web and audio conferencing, and many others.

FlightStats data brings worldwide real-time coverage to the Rearden notification engine, tracking more than 87 percent of scheduled flights worldwide and 99.8 percent of flights in North America, including complete mapping of codeshares.

Rearden Commerce also plans to leverage FlightStats for changes in arrival times, arrival gates and flight diversions, providing alerts to colleagues, family members or even ground transportation providers to help avoid needless and costly wait times at the airport.

Rearden Commerce expects to offer FlightStats information to customers starting this summer.
