OpenJaw Technologies has shared that it has worked upon the backbone travel technology for India’s online travel services company Yatra.com.

Yatra.com, which launched its operations recently, enables travelers to search, compare and reserve the flight and hotel deals using a fully integrated travel technology solution supplied by OpenJaw Technologies.

According to the Dublin-based company, in order to provide a comprehensive flight and hotel searching capability for the Indian market, Yatra needed to source inventory from multiple suppliers including GDS’, supplier direct connects, LCCs and hotel switches, and also locally manage hotel content and room allocations.

“OpenJaw’s XML middleware and Rules Engine, xDistributor has provided the multiple supplier connectivity and distribution management, while xHotel, Openjaw’s recently launched Hotel Content & Inventory Management Solution enables Yatra to centrally manage hotel descriptive content, negotiated rates and inventory allocations for all their hotel suppliers. xHotel’s extranet capability allows individual hotels or chains to maintain their content, rates and inventory via a web interface,” shared the company.

OpenJaw contributes to the ongoing development of the OTA XML specifications, an open standard messaging system that facilitates improved connectivity between travel companies and their distribution partners, better packaging of travel products, and lower distribution costs.
