Global information security specialist Cybertrust has shared that Amadeus has earned Cybertrust Security Management Program (SMP) Perimeter certification.

“The certification, which covers the hosting operations for Amadeus e-Travel Management, Amadeus’ corporate travel management solution for corporations, confirms that Amadeus continues to meet the highest levels of security and protection from external infiltration to its customer information, and creates controls to define and enforce internal information technology policies and procedures,” stated the company.

Cybertrust SMP Perimeter Certification represents that Amadeus has secured their network and devices, including its e-mail perimeter, DMZ-networked infrastructure, wireless security, and physical and human/administrative elements, according to the company’s release.

By identifying critical assets and mitigating risks to its perimeter, Amadeus can assure customers and partners that it maintains a maximum level of security.

Jerome Destors, Director e-Travel, the e-commerce division of Amadeus acknowledged that more than ever, protecting highly sensitive employee and financial data is a key concern for companies when considering an online travel management strategy.

Destors said the latest initiative underlines the company’s effort to offer the highest levels of data and systems protection, while consistently delivering the reliability, scalability and performance companies have come to expect from Amadeus.

SMP is a programmatic approach to security management that reduces security risks, improves the overall security posture, and enables an organisation to demonstrate efforts to meet compliance requirements and leverage its existing investments in people, processes, and technologies.
