Travel management company Garber Travel has launched ITA Software's new low-cost distribution system to book airline tickets for corporate clients, attempting to lower its distribution costs and also for tracking customer information after the reserva

Garber Travel expects to expand its use of the ITA Software system
throughout the next 18 months.

"This will not only help us lower distribution costs, but ITA Software
has built in the features that are important from an agency's standpoint
for tracking customer information after the reservation is completed.
They have truly built a better mousetrap," said Joan Kaplan, executive
vice president of Garber Travel. The new system reduces the time needed
to make a reservation and find the best airfare, which improves customer
service.

Jim Snow, director - IT, Garber Travel said that ITA Software worked
with the company to understand the reservation process from the travel
agent's perspective. Snow said that this system will make it easier to
train travel counselors and enable them to do their jobs more
efficiently.

Also, ITA's application platform will allow for quick changes and
upgrades to its system, which is a major requirement in today's
environment, according to Snow.

"Built from the ground up using modern technology, this system is the
first new travel distribution system deployed in decades. The system
incorporates ITA Software's fare search system, which is currently used
by companies including Orbitz, Continental, America West, Alaska
Airlines, and Galileo International," said an official statement.

ITA offers QPX modern airfare pricing, airfare shopping and seat
availability management system. The system receives standard industry
data feeds - fares from ATPCO, schedules from OAG and customer-specific
information. It also maintains direct availability connections to a
number of major carriers as well as standard availability data on all
other airlines worldwide.

Earlier this year, Kayak.com had unveiled its air search engine based
on ITA Software, to become the first comparison shopping site to use ITA
Software's QPX engine.
