Cendant Travel Distribution Services (TDS) has reached an agreement with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) which secures its Galileo-connected travel agency customers access to all SAS fare classes, including web fares and Snowflake fares, as well as Wideroe

Niklas Andréen, regional managing director, Cendant TDS Northern Region said that the current Galileo travel agents in the Nordic countries will have access to these fares directly in Galileo at no additional cost during the term of this agreement.

This multi-year global deal will allow Galileo travel agents to continue to access SAS content directly in the normal Galileo GDS displays, according to Galileo.

"In addition, key functionality will be upgraded to provide further benefits to Galileo travel agents and SAS customers. The new agreement highlights the unique type of partnership that Galileo is able to develop with suppliers as part of their overall distribution strategy. The additional fare classes mean that Galileo-connected travel agents can be confident that the fares they offer are the very best, at a time when they are under increasing competitive pressure," stated the company.

Robin Kamark, SVP Airline Commercial at Scandinavian Airlines said, "At SAS, we recognise the importance of the travel agency channel to our business and the benefits that Galileo can bring us in this area. At the same time, reducing distribution costs is vital to SAS and we are satisfied that this agreement will help us reach our goals while extending our reach and prominence throughout the Galileo global network."
