In search of innovation: are you ready to disrupt and deliver?

If that’s you, it’s time to put your pitch to the test at this year’s Innovation in Travel awards 2014…

With the proliferation of new innovative technologies, the rise and rise of mobile, vast quantities of data and rapidly changing consumer behaviour, will today’s biggest names in travel really grab the headlines in a decade?

The jury is out, but one thing is clear: the game is only just beginning and there is still plenty of room for innovation, not only from new players but within established ones too.

One clear emerging trend in travel from our most recent Social Media & Mobile in Travel Distribution report 2013 is that cross-device shopping is on the rise. Yes, travellers today are researching, planning and booking travel using a variety of devices including mobile, tablet and desktop at each stage of the process. And they are visiting an average of around 22 travel-related sites prior to booking a vacation. There are big opportunities too in business travel with 70% of business travellers checking into their flights and hotels via their mobile devices. Another trend is how big data and analytics is putting more power into the hands of marketers. Meanwhile, revenue management today is seen as integral to all corners of the business.

At all EyeforTravel.com events we seek to encourage and reward innovation.

At this year'sTravel Distribution Summit, Europe , for example, we host the EyeforTravel Innovation in Travel Awards. The same is true for our event in Asia . As always, the aim this year is to identify and showcase innovative newcomers or indeed new products or services that look set to disrupt the status quo in five categories: marketing, mobile, distribution, revenue management and data analytics. Previous entrants have included: citybot, hallst and TourCMS, Triposo and Bookassist.

Companies that make the final cut stand to benefit from:

1.     Realistic feedback from four proven investors in already successful travel companies.

2.     Unrivalled exposure and the opportunity to meet with over 600 of Europe’s senior level travel industry executives

3.     Unbeatable PR opportunities through EyeforTravel, a global research and information resource for the travel executive interested in distribution, revenue management, mobile, social media, marketing and data analytics. Your company overview will appear in the show guide, both online and in print.

4.     Exclusive press coverage on EyeforTravel.com

Those firms that make the top four will go through to present on the Keynote sessions on Day Two in front of over 600 senior level travel executives.
