RealTravel founder and chief executive officer Ken Leeder feels travel blogging is really taking off. And Leeder is clear about company’s agenda – to be the best in travel blogging.

“Our goal is to be the best travel blogging and information site on the web, and to provide a more personalised and informative experience to travel shoppers and a more effective venue for travel industry marketers than currently exists online. We launched in October 2005 and have been growing extremely quickly ever since,” says Leeder, sharing information with EyeforTravel.com’s Ritesh Gupta ahead of Sales and Marketing in Travel USA 2006.

It was only last year when RealTravel was officially launched, an initiative which originated from Leeder’s personal experience of planning a trip around the world. Leeder realised that relevant and personalised travel information that could be trusted was very difficult to find online and hence, RealTravel was created.

“I realised that relevant and personalised travel information that could be trusted was very difficult to find online. As a result, RealTravel was born. We provide the best place on the web for travel enthusiasts to share their travel experiences and for people to find relevant travel information from like-minded travelers,” Leeder had said last year.

Terming the growth by the company as an excellent one, Leeder says travel blogs represent an excellent opportunity for travel marketers to offer a value added service to their customers, accelerate their word-of-mouth marketing and to reach people while they are planning a trip.

“We built RealTravel with a view to partnering and are pursuing partnerships with travel service providers on all of these fronts,” says Leeder.

Queried about on what’s on his agenda, Leeder says, “We are currently seeking quality travel service providers that are interested in accelerating their word-of-mouth marketing or engaging consumers as they plan their trips.”
